Founder & President’s Message

Padmashree Dr. S.B. Mujumdar
President & Founder Director, Symbiosis Society
Chancellor, SIU
M.Sc, Ph.D.

Banking sector is increasing in scale and complexity. There is need to recruit and train the additional staff as public sector banks will have to face the challenge of retirement of a large part of their workforce. Some estimates suggest that close to about 500,000 employees of public sector banks would retire over next five years. Moreover, the banks would require a new genre of management professionals to meet the emerging challenges.

Symbiosis has always been proactive in understanding the needs of the market and providing trained manpower thus contributing to the growth and development of the country. The two year MBA programme in banking and finance would cover functional areas of finance and accounting, marketing, HR management, strategic planning, economics, behavioural science, rural finance, IT and quantitative methods, etc. Specialized inputs in banking and finance will form a major part of the curriculum.

I welcome you to join the Symbiosis family and architect a bright future for yourself.
