MOU with IIBF for Advanced Management Programme

On 6th December, 2011, Symbiosis International University (SIU) and Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) entered in to an MOU to facilitate collaborative activities between the institute and the University. Among other things, the significant outcome of this MOU will be a joint certification programme that will be executed by Symbiosis School of Banking Management (SSBM). As per this MOU, SSBM will offer the Advanced Management Programme to professionals working in the BFSI sector.

The programme will be offered to graduate executives in the middle management cadres in banks with around 10 years of experience with a view to prepare them for career advancement. The programme will be conducted at the ELTIS premises of Symbiosis International University on weekends to suit the convenience of working executives. The programme will span over a period of 11 months on the completion of which the participants will be awarded Certificate in Advanced Management in Banking and Finance jointly issued by IIBF and SIU.

Presiding over the function, Padma Shri Dr.S.B.Mujumdar, Chancellor SIU, emphasized on the need for collaborative ventures between the industry and academia to harness the benefits of synergy. He wished SSBM the very best for all its future endeavours.

Dr.R.Bhaskaran, CEO IIBF provided valuable insights in to the success story of IIBF and deliberated on how the tie ups help in developing professionally qualified and competent bankers.

The other dignitaries present for the event included Dr.Balachandran, Director Academic Affairs, IIBF, Mrs. Madhu Sharma, Registrar SIU, Dr.Bhama Venkataramani, Director, SSBM, members from the banking fraternity, faculty and staff of SSBM.

The MOU was signed in the presence of all the guests by Dr.Bhaskaran representing IIBF, Mrs. Madhu Sharma representing SIU and Dr.Bhama Venkataramani in the capacity of Director of executing Institute.

The MOU would be regarded as an important milestone in the history of SSBM. The first batch is scheduled to commence from January 16, 2012.
